Choosing the right door control product
Four things decide which door control product suits a doorway. Check each one against the product specifications.
Door material
Glass and timber doors use different fittings. A frameless glass door needs patch fittings to connect the glass to a floor spring.
Door width and weight
Every closer and floor spring has a maximum door width and weight. Check both. The GD 3211 suits doors up to 1000 mm wide and 85 kg.
How busy the doorway is
Door control products are designed for different levels of use. The GD 3211 is designed for low-traffic areas.
Which way the door swings
A single-action door opens one way. A double-action door swings both ways and needs hardware made for it, such as the GD 3211.
Installation
Door control products, and floor springs in particular, have to be installed accurately to work as designed. We recommend a qualified door hardware installer. Each product has an installation guide on its product page and on our Downloads page.
